I was bullied by people that other people had dubbed "wimps" and "nerds". I was even laughed at and mocked by them as well. I finally gave up trying. I had decided that if I wasn't good enough for them, then that's their problem. After all I had tried and thought of, I was still left out in the cold. So I turned my attentions to the things that those people had no part in. I became my own man, completely independent from my peers and their self-centered issues. The funny thing is, that after I had completely seperated myself from them and I no longer had a need, nor a desire to gain their approval, they started coming to me! How to persuade my parents to get a rescue dog?

So recently, ive really been overtaken by the thought of adopting a dog from my local SPCA. My family all has said before if we were ever to get another dog, it would be a big one, as we already have a medium sized dog. However, when i talked to my mom about it, she simply said that she was for it (i dont know if she actually is or if she;s just saying that to make me happy) but my father would never go for it. I recently cleaned a rootkit off my computer (windows xp) using Kaspersky's TDSSKiller tool. In addition to finding the rootkit, the tool also labeled sptd.sys as a "suspicious file." Since running the scan and deleting the rootkit, my computer has been running at normal speed except for Microsoft Paint and any applications using Java, which are running slower than normal (even after deleting my temp files and cookies). I got a 470 on critical reading, a 560 on math, and a 500 on writing skills. So my overall score is a 1530. I did not study one bit for this test so on the actual SAT I should do better. I'm Looking for a book series I read back in junior high.?

I remember the bindings were all black, and none of them were very thick. I think there were 5 books in the series. The books were about California breaking off the continent after a major earthquake, and then being quarantined because of nuclear radiation or something like that. I also remember something about rampant biker gangs terrorizing people. But the series were all about this one guy and how he survived, and tried to escape. His wife and child (son, I think) get killed by the evil biker dudes at the end of the first or second book. And in the next book he hooks up with his wife's best friend...? That's pretty much all the details that I remember except that there were some fairly explicit parts. (The bikers gang a convenience store clerk girl in I think the first book.) I just remember thinking these books were kinda like a Californian "Road Warrior" series. Thanks for any help.

The Luxe by Anna Godberson is really good. I finished it recently and as soon as I finished it I had to have the sequel. There are three out now and the fourth is coming out on October 27. It is set in NYC in 1899, there is a lot of betrayal and secret love and loveless marriages and extravagant dresses. It is an amazing book! My dad had a stoke last Thursday (now Sunday) and he is still non-reponsive. Will he ever wake up?

Babywearing help- no matter which wrap or sling I use, baby ends up chin to chest, how to avoid?

I have a ring sling, a Moby, and a Baby K'tan. My lo is a month old and so I can only use the cradle hold or the newborn hug hold (Moby and ring sling)/kangaroo hold (K'tan). I try starting her out upright in the hug hold/kangaroo, and flat in the cradle hold, but because the sides of a wrap or sling are curved she always ends up curving towards herself and I can't fit the two fingers between her chin and chest like you are supposed to be able to. I can see her face but in the warnings the way I understand it it sounds like her airway could be blocked from inside even with her face visible, if her chin touches her chest. I am wearing it high and tight enough and have the right sizes and so forth. I have watched videos but we start out in the right positions and quickly squirm into the bad curved position instead. But when she rides in the car in a carseat, or spends ten minutes in her swing, her chin always ends up touching her chest because she is not old enough to do otherwise yet unless she is laying flat. Given this, what I can't understand is how do you keep a newborn's chin from touching their chest in any wrap or sling since they can't lay flat in one? I really, really need to use the sling or wrap because she needs to be held almost constantly and I need to be able to wash diapers, get a sandwich or bowl of cereal, grocery shop, etc. Also I have $150 into wraps and slings at this point and I would like to feel comfortable using one for more than 10 minutes by which point she has scrunched up chin to chest. Help, please!

I think it's really good, for your age. Please don't take that the wrong way, either, because good writing takes a very long time to develop. Yes, you were born with a creative spirit, but that spirit needs to be developed through persistent writing (and reading, actually) and through gaining the life experience necessary to write meaningfully. A question you always need to answer when writing is who do you intend your audience to be and what do you mean to impart to them with your words? Do you just want to impress them with the way you put your words together, or do you want them to say "aha, that poem means a lot to me?" People want to read what inspires, motivates, moves, and even saddens them. They don't want fancy words, although artistic creativity is imporant as well. The vital thing is that the idea of the poem is not lost among superfluous verbage. I always try to mix plain, understandable English along with a few "artistic" metaphors in my poetry, and I think it works well. Good luck, your writing ability is already lightyears ahead of your peers, you just need to write persistently to fine-tune it. And READ READ READ!!! Hearing the "voices" of your favorite authors will help you to find your own.

As a Christian supporter of gay rights, I am sorry to hear that they disapprove of gay marriage. However, there are an increasing number of denominations that treat gays as human beings, and don't shy away from honoring their personal relationships. Perhaps the Sallies (Salvation Army) will catch up someday. I am not an Evangelical Christian, and feel that the Salvation Army leans a little (or a lot) too closely to Fundamentalism. However, I do admire their "hands on" approach to providing for people's practical needs. They helped a Pagan friend of mine after a motorcycle crash, and didn't try to proselytize, which was nice. I actually expected them to come around and har this person about being of a different faith, but they didn't.

The Fed could manipulate the money supply to slow or speed up inflation, but slowing inflation in this way would likely result in higher unemployment. It would basically be a manufactured recession.

I work with a woman who's last name is May, and although May is generally accepted as a feminine name, if it's a family name I think it's fine. I never see any wetness when I wake up, but I have been getting a sore on th corner of my lipped called angular cheilits and its caused by drooling (and a couple other things that I know I dont have) Plus I know I do sleep with my mouth open because my nose has been congested ever since I been pregnant, and I can only breath through my mouth. Sore Arm and pulptations?

Im a healthy 16 year old and figure skater, for the past 2 weeks i have skates alot more then usuall and haven't ate as much. I have started eating more now (Purley beacuse my mom went shopping, we didn;t have much in before) For the past copule of days i have had pulptations and an achy arm, not painfull in anyway. I would definitely recommend a mac if you are looking for a good computer for school. I am a high school student and got my first mac (it was also my first computer) back in 2008 and it is still working like new even with all that I have put it though. To your first question, yes. You can easily do word processing (typing up papers), excell and powerpoint doents if you buy either iwork or office for mac. If you get a mac, I would recommend getting office for mac because it is a bit easier to learn how to use it than iwork and is better for students. Also for your concern about emailing to teachers, you will not have to convert the file if you get Microsoft office for mac because it uses a .docx file format (office for windows uses .doc) which is compatible with most versions of microsoft office on windows computers that schools and teachers use. For your second question, also yes. If you are switching over from a pc, it will take a week or two to get used to but they are very easy to use, almost as easy as say using an iphone or ipod. It only took me about three days to learn how to use my computer when I first got it. Macs are great for students and I would recommend getting one.

Well to start off iam 16 and recently i haven't been happy in the last 4 years. It all started when i moved from Los Angeles to Florida for educational purposes. 3 week old infant boy projectile vomiting and very bad cough?

Suddenly I have low voltage at the wire that feeds the garage?

I have a No. 10 wire going underground to the garage. It's only for a light and an outlet. It's worked fine for years but suddenly the elec. quit. I found the junction box where the UF wire comes up and connects the garage. I separated the feed wire from the wire that goes on to the garage and only have 50 volts. It's only a two wire (no ground) but has always been fine. What could be going on? I could take my VOM and just stab the ground probe in the earth (with the other probe on the hot wire naturally) and get 100 volts at least. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Mike

I have a Linsys Wireless USB thing that connect to the wireless internet at my house. I have had it for a while now and the past few weeks it has been acting up. My wireless has a pcode.
