My boyfriend hates me going out clubbing.?

i met my partner 9 yrs ago, we got engaged after 6 months and had our first child 2 yrs later. He is the absolute love of my life and wouldn't trade him for the world, we go out together allot and we have a fab time, he is absolutely hilarious and i spend the night thinking "oh god he is on legs, i cant wait to get him home lol", but every now and then a friend will ask me to come out clubbing to catch up and i have to make excuses i can't because of this and that, which is a lie, it's just i worry about asking my partner if he minds because it either develops into a full blown argument or he makes me feel really guilty, i am 27 and been out without him a max of 5 times. It's not that he is insecure, i think it is just because he gets jealous that i am going to develop this whole new life without him , but i told him to catch up with friends but he won't, going pubs and stuff with mates is not his scene anymore, keeps telling me he prefers my company to anyone else's, i have been asked to go out this weekend with a cousin i have not seen in a couple of months, but again i am going over and over in my head, thinking of a way to approach him about this
