Why can not the Pope apologizes for the Crusades that have ravaged the Muslims under the name of the Cross?

because he believes they were a just cause, i guess. all in all, it happened, and it took its toll and as people we should forgive, forgetting will never happen because when an evil (considered by some) deed takes place in a world already engulfed in other evils, it will live on forever as a treacherous memory to some. anyways, i dont believe this question would have been asked before 9/11, which entirely changed the christian-american view of the muslims.
