How long should I wait after scalp surgery to dye my hair?

I recently got scalp surgery, nothing serious. I had a cyst cut out and maybe 3 or 4 stitches. I want to dye my hair soon, but I'm not sure how long I should wait. It seems pretty well healed, but I'm still wary. Any advice?
