Why do immigrants from Africa HATE to being called African-American?

Because when you say African-American most people ume you are talking about black americans.They don't think you are talking about immigrants who came here recently from Africa. I would say they get annoyed about being labeled something they're not. I doubt they have a problem with black americans ( most of them anyway). They would rather get called from where they are actually from. It's like saying someone from Honduras is Mexican all the time. They would get upset too.
