My dad had a stoke last Thursday (now Sunday) and he is still non-reponsive. Will he ever wake up?

His CT shows previous stroke damage and major stroke damage this time. My hubby is ALSO ill in the hospital down here at the coast of BC lower mainland and is coughing up blood . Dad lives quite far away but I am wondering how long the comas tend to last and if there is hope at all that he will ever come out of it. I can't take much more. Man oh man.......I am starting to get a pain now in my artery of my neck on the left side and feel like an elephant is sitting on my chest from all this stress.
